Getting Started

What is WeddingWallet?
WeddingWallet is a wedding budget planning platform that helps you track expenses, manage vendors, collaborate with your partner, and stay on top of every payment — all in one place.
How do I set up my budget?
After signing up, the onboarding wizard will walk you through setting your total budget, wedding date, location, and top priorities. You can adjust everything later from your dashboard.

Budget Management

How do categories and line items work?
Your budget is organized into categories (e.g., Venue, Catering, Flowers). Each category contains line items — individual expenses with estimated costs, actual costs, and payment schedules.
Can I track individual payments?
Yes! Each line item supports a full payment timeline — deposits, installments, and final payments. You can mark payments as paid and set due dates for reminders.

Collaboration

How do I invite my partner or wedding planner?
Go to Settings and use the Members section to send an invitation by email. You can assign roles: Partner (full access), Planner (can edit budget), or Viewer (read-only).
What are the different roles?
Owner: full control including billing. Partner: can edit everything except billing. Planner: can edit budget items with optional approval workflows. Viewer: read-only access to the budget.

WalletMail

What is WalletMail?
WalletMail lets you forward vendor invoices and receipts to a unique email address. We automatically extract key details and suggest which category they belong to.
How do I set up WalletMail?
Go to Settings and look for the WalletMail card. You’ll get a unique forwarding address like yourname@walletmail.weddingwallet.com. Forward any vendor email there and it will appear in your WalletMail inbox.

Billing

What’s the difference between the plans?
Free gives you unlimited categories, partner collaboration, and 5 WalletMail forwards per month. Plus adds ZIP-code benchmarks, more WalletMail forwards, and basic contributor tracking. Pro unlocks unlimited WalletMail, what-if scenarios, full contributor workflows, and approval workflows.
How do I upgrade or cancel?
Go to Settings and scroll to the Subscription section. You can upgrade to a paid plan or manage your existing subscription through the Stripe billing portal. Cancellations take effect at the end of your billing period.

Security & Privacy

Is my data secure?
Yes. All connections are encrypted with TLS. Your database uses row-level security policies so users can only access their own wedding data. We use Clerk for authentication and Stripe for secure payment processing.
Who can see my budget?
Only people you explicitly invite to your wedding can see your budget. We never share your data with third parties for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
